In order to further strengthen the sense of identity, responsibility, and Party consciousness of Party members, strengthen their Party consciousness, and give full play to the role of the branch as the vanguard and the role of party members as pioneers, on September 18th, Wang Shixi, director of the law firm, and Qu Jianjun, secretary of the Party branch, led more than 40 Party members and lawyers to Yan’an for a three-day red tour.

Yan’an, the holy land of the Chinese revolution, is a place admired and fascinated by hundreds of millions of people. During the 13 years stay in Yan’an from 1935 to 1948, the Party Central Committee underwent a glorious development period from small to large, from weak to strong, and to the victories. This was also true for the New Democratic Revolution under its leadership. Yan’an is a recorder of this history, and leaves behind the Yan’an Spirit that will never fade.

Yangjialing

We visited the old revolutionary site of Yangjialing, where our revolutionaries lived, and listening to the stories of the revolution. The purpose of the first stop of our trip was to inherit the red spirit.

In Yangjialing, the old caves and old photos were telling of the hard life of the revolutionaries. There, we learned and gained a deep understanding of the revolutionary deeds of Mao Zedong and other central leaders during this period. We intuitively felt the life and work of the revolutionaries at that time. Although the conditions were difficult, their revolutionary will was strong and unyielding. To this day, we must not only remember the history of the revolution and our original aspiration, but also learn and carry forward the revolutionary spirit of the revolutionaries.

Liangjiahe

In Liangjiahe, we carefully visited the Liangjiahe Village History Museum, the Educated Youth Compound, the three-hole cave where General Secretary Xi Jinping lived, and the digester, water well, iron industry club, sewing club, and mill that were built by the mass under his leadership. The pictures and physical objects presented a vivid picture of how the General Secretary who took root in the countryside, worked hard and forge ahead with the people of Liangjiahe. We deeply understood the lofty firm spirit, braveness and the integrity. In the village committee of Liangjiahe Village, we relived our oath to join the Party at the front of the bright red Party flag.

Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Hall and Wangjiaping are unmissable stops in the Red Tour. As early as the early days of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, a Revolutionary Memorial Hall was established here to show people the glorious stories. The memorial hall has been relocated and rebuilt several times, with greater scale and more exhibits. There were more than 30,000 cultural relics, thousands of historical photos, and more than 10,000 volumes of written materials. It systematically reflects the glorious history of the Central Red Army after arrival in northern Shaanxi from October 1935 to March 1948, during which it established a united front against Japanese aggression, launched the large-scale production campaign, enhanced political education, and held the seven National Congresses of the Party Central Committee, and finally achieved the victory of the Liberation War.
After the visit to the Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, we came to the old revolutionary site of Wangjiaping which was next to it. It was the seat of the Revolutionary Military Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, as well as the former residence of Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai and other leaders of the Central Military Commission and the Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army. Since it was very large, we could easily explore it on foot. In the open space of the old site, we watched performances of folk songs, gongs and drums from Northern Shaanxi.

Zaoyuan

On the third day of the journey, we wore neatly to visit the Zaoyuan Revolutionary site. Zaoyuan was originally the manor of a landlord, and is different from Yangjialing. If the caves in Yangjialing are a residential landscape in Northern Shaanxi, then Zaoyuan is full of pastoral scenery. When you walk into the Zaoyuan, you will feel that it is like an open farm with lush vegetation in the garden. On the half-slope of northeast of Zaoyuan, you can find Mao Zedong’s former residence. On both sides of the residence, there are the former residences of Zhou Enlai and Zhu De. On the back hillside, you can also see the former residence of Ren Bishi. Standing on the right side of the Zaoyuan near the hillside, you can see the “Happiness Canal” that turned the dry land into watered land for crops harvest.
After visiting the bronze statues of the five great secretaries and the former residences of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other great leaders, we cannot help but sighed: the today’s happiness has been made by them through perseverance and hard work.

The three-day trip to Yan’an broadened our horizons, enriched our knowledge, sublimated our thoughts, strengthened our party consciousness, and tempered our will. In the future, we will effectively transform the spiritual strength into endogenous forces that enhance the Party consciousness and ideals and beliefs. We will never forget the original aspiration and the founding mission, seek truth from facts, strictly perform job responsibilities, keep pace with the times, and make exploration and innovation to write a new chapter in our career.
