      Since Party branch is a grass-roots organization of the Communist Party of China, its building is a vital part of the Party building. In addition, it is also an important force for Party members to maintain the ties with the people and lead the grassroots work, playing an important role in the development of the Party’s cause. In recent years, with the deepening of the Party building, the achievements of Shanghai Lonely & Tenwen Partners in building its Party branch are increasingly visible. At present, the law firm has 52 Party members, and has applied to the higher-level Party organization to establish a general Party branch. In the past five years, the Party branch of the law firm has achieved fruitful results in terms of organizational structure, activities and team building, etc.


I. Aim to be a Pioneering Five-Star Party Branch
      A robust organizational structure of Party branches is an important guarantee for the Party building at the primary level. The strengthening of organizational construction of Party branches and promotion of improved organizational structure are an important task of party organizations. The robust organizational structure is of great significance to the Party’s work, team building of Party members and the Party building, etc. Only by establishing a robust organizational structure can the work of Party members be guided by rules and regulations, which can truly achieve institutionalized management. The robust organizational structure of the Party branch can guarantee the high-quality activities of the Party. A reasonably planned organizational structure of the Party branch will strengthen contacts and communication among Party members, facilitate mutual exchanges and learning and enhance the Party’s cohesion and power. Therefore, the Party branch of the law firm attaches great importance to the improvement of the organizational structure and the promotion of various tasks, thereby continuously improving the quality and skills of Party building.

       The Party branch of the law firm insists on following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, delivers on the spirit of the conferences of the Party, and bears in mind the theories. Taking the opportunity of building a five-star Party branch, the Party branch will focus on its tasks, improve the pattern of party building, pay close attention to the improvement of conducts, and make endeavors to improve the team building of Party members. Furthermore, the Party branch will work hard on the Aspiration and Mission Education Campaign, carry out colorful and meaningful Party building activities, and strive to create an innovative grass-roots party organization that is learning-oriented and service-oriented. At the same time, the Party branch will continuously stimulate its vitality, and promote the exercise of full and rigorous governance at the primary level, thus giving full play to its role as a combat fortress.

     In the star rating of the Party branch by the lawyer industry in Minhang District, the Party branch was rated “Five Start”, which represents a high degree of affirmation of the organization of the Party branch of the law firm.
 

II. Learn the Revolutionary Spirit

         The Party branch has also achieved remarkable results in organization of activities. It has carried out various activities such as themed Party days, Branch party classes, and meetings for criticism and self-criticism. At the same time, in practical work, the Party branch also pays attention to strengthening the ideological and political education and organizational management of Party members through these activities. In the design of the activities, the Party branch pays attention to reaching out to the masses, follow up practical issues, strengthen the publicity and interpretation of various policies and measures, providing a colorful learning and exchange platform for the majority of Party members.

Red tourism across the country

         In 2019, the Party branch of the law firm organized Party building activities such as the visits to Huihang Ancient Road, Jiaxing South Lake, Xitang Ancient Town, Jinzhai, and Joint Savings Bank Warehouse; organized the watching of the patriotic movie Me and My Motherland for patriotic education. From November 8th to 10th, 2019, the law firm organized some party members and lawyers to pay a three-day visit to Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, the “cradle of the Red Army and the hometown of generals”. This was one of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, with the purposes to remember the great achievements of the ancestors, learn from the spirit of the Red Army, inherit the revolutionary spirit, enhance the creativity, cohesion and ability of the grassroots Party branch in the new era. In June 2020, all Party branch members relived the history of the revolution, learned the history of the Party and the New China, and refined the Party building. In July 2020, at the Party members’ conference, the secretary of the Party branch organized the study of “Four Histories” for all members. On August 24, 2020, Professor Bu Xinxin was invited to give a Party lecture entitled “Current Domestic and Foreign Situation and Our Responsibilities”. In August 2020, a three-day trip to Anji and Shengsi was organized. on September 18, 2020, in order to further strengthen the awareness of membership and responsibilities of Party members, the Party branch enhanced the Party spirit, gave full play to the role of the branch as the vanguard and the role of party members as pioneers. The law firm also organized more than 40 Party members and lawyers to pay a three-day visit to Yan’an. In September 2020, more than 50 Party members went to Zunyi to relive the eventful years of the Party. In June 2021, in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, inherit and carry forward the glorious tradition and excellent conduct of the Party, and enhance the sense of honor, responsibility and mission of the majority of Communist Party members, more than 70 Party members and lawyers of the firm paid a four-day revolution tourism to Chongqing in batches. On April 10, 2023, Professor Bu Xinxin of the Party School of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee was once again invited to introduce the latest international and domestic situation and deliver the report on learning the spirit of the Party’s 20th National Congress.
 


III. Lead the Youth to live up to Their Promise
      Young lawyers are the future of the law firm. Therefore, the team building of young lawyers is an important work of the Party branch, and team building of young Party members is the core of the building of Party branch. In the building of the Party branch, the team building has been further strengthened. The Party branch is the grassroots organization of the CPC, as well as the foundation of the Party’s organizational strength. Strengthening the building of the Party branch can improve the organizational concept and discipline of Party members and enhance their unity and cooperation, thereby promoting the healthy organizational construction. The team building of party branch is an important way to improve the caliber of Party members. By strengthening of the ideological and political education and study of theories, Party members can improve their caliber and work ability, as well as the healthy development of the Party’s cause. The team building of the Party branch is an important means to strengthen the ideological and political leadership of Party members. By participating in various learning, training and exchange activities, Party members can improve the ideological and political consciousness and strengthen the Party consciousness, which will inject new ideas and vitality into the Party’s work. Strengthening the team building of the Party branch can also increase its social influence. Through various public welfare, volunteer service and other activities, the Party branch can enhance its sense of social responsibility and social influence, improve its image and reputation, and win the public’s recognition and support.

      The firm attaches great importance to the admission of new Party members, with focus on implementation of a “double training” mechanism. It is necessary not only to admit outstanding lawyers but also to build a team of lawyers who are politically qualified Party members with excellent business skills, so as to give fully play to the role of the party organization as the vanguard and the role of party members as pioneers. In order to better grasp the situation of Party members in the law firm and admit new Party members, the law firm has established a ledger for the admission of Party members, and fully fulfilled the responsibilities for admission of Party members. The Party branch members cooperate to mutually oversee each other.

       The law firm implements strict procedures for admission of ne Party members and adopts a layer-by-layer review and control mechanism. If a candidate is found to have failed to meet the requirements for a Party member in the examination, the admission will not be approved. If any fraud is found, correction is strictly required. The law firm carefully controls the admission, thereby preventing the admission of new Party members who fail to meet the requirements.

     The law firm has improved the “double training” mechanism for training outstanding and key lawyers into Party members and for training Party members into business backbone, and taken the initiative to admit excellent lawyers with good political quality, strong business ability, solid business skills, and good professional ethics to the Party, thereby continuously improving the ability of the Party organization and normalizing the ideological guidance and professional quality improvement of Party members. The Party members show their membership identity at work, and set an example at demonstration posts.

    The law firm is always principle-oriented. By making improvement through Party building, the law firm ensures that the lawyer team develops in the right direction. It gives the role to the Party organization consciously, builds a hierarchical talent echelon, and operates a training mechanism “systematically”. Furthermore, it actively builds a platform for Party members to play the role of the backbone, and transfer the Party member backbones to important positions, so that they can realize the value of Party members and contribute to the development of the law firm as outstanding talents.
    The Party branch of the law firm cares about the growth of young lawyers through communication with them, and helps with their realization of common prosperity. It always listens to the true ideas of young lawyers and formulates practical plans; strengthens the business learning and training of young lawyers, and continuously improves their business skills; and forms an Internet business team to promote business.

 

IV. Keep Social Responsibilities in Mind
      The Party branch also actively participates in various social welfare activities, cares about vulnerable groups in society, and makes positive contributions to a harmonious society.

     Since its merger, the firm has undergone three years of epidemic outbreak. During the static management of Shanghai in April 2022, the Party branch called on every member to take the lead in implementing the Party’s guidelines, principles and policies at this critical moment and lead the masses to work hard for economic development and social progress, playing a exemplary and vanguard role in the prevention and control of the epidemic. In just 24 hours, the law firm raised more than 60,000 yuan, and on the evening of April 11th, more than 200 materials were delivered in batches to more than 200 lonely and widowed elderly households in multiple villages. In the same month, under the proposal of the Party branch of the law firm and the trade union, the law firm quickly arranged a professional vegetable delivery company to accurately count the materials, and coordinate multiple supply channels and transport resources after overcoming the difficulties such as tight personnel and heavy work. Finally, a 200-yuan vegetable package was sent to each colleague of the law firm at the entrance of their communities as quickly as possible, so that they can “feel at ease at home and work together to fight the epidemic.”

      At the same time, the Party branch of the law firm mainly focuses on pairing and co-construction, village legal services, and park-level activities. Party members and lawyers actively carried out the activities in communities, parks and buildings; Party members are required to indicate their identities; the party branch is paired with the Party member and mass service center of Hongqiao Town Community; during the epidemic, the law firm organized Party members and lawyers to donate more than 200,000 yuan to purchase masks from abroad and donated them to the Shanghai medical team for Hubei; the law firm also organized Party members and lawyers to donate 100,000 yuan to help students in Shangri-La, Yunnan.
 

IV. Move forward into the Future
      With increased number of Party members, the law firm strives for the establishment of the General Party Branch in the near future. Sine the law firm is a legal service organization, its Party branch should play a leading role in promoting lawyers to deeply integrate legal affairs with Party building, not only serving the clients of the law firm but also contributing to the development of the Party and the people’s cause. The Party branch should guide the law firms to actively participate in social welfare activities and legal aid, provide better legal services to the society, and establish a good image of lawyers. The Party branch should also guide the law firm to combine Party building with corporate culture to improve the cohesion and ability of the law firm, and lead the law firm to develop toward a larger scale, standardization, professionalism, informatization, and branding.
