Work experience:

Since joining In & Far Law Firm in 2005, Mr. Gong Yi has worked as a legal assistant until he became the director of the law firm. He has been trying his best to play a catalytic role in promoting firm’s business. As a practicing lawyer for more than ten years, he has represented the government, enterprises, institutions and individual clients in more than a thousand litigation, non-litigation, and arbitration cases. At present, Mr. Gong Yi is a member of the Banking Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, a member of the Minhang District Lawyers Working Committee, a consultant of the Minhang District Intellectual Property Legal Service Advisory Group, a director of the Minhang District Intellectuals Association, an entrepreneurial legal mentor in the Big Zero Bay Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship agglomeration area, and a member of the Minhang District Lawyers Volunteer Group for Workers’ Rights Protection.

In recent years, Mr. Gong Yi has undertaken many legal services related to relocation, demolition, and government clearance, and participated in the whole process. Especially in the past two or three years, the team of lawyers led by Mr. Gong Yi has participated in the demolition of six large markets with a total area of more than 400,000 square meters distributed in different streets and towns in Minhang District, Pudong New Area, and Baoshan District, and provided full legal services covering from preaching, notification, interview, contract signing to litigation, etc. Therefore, the demolition was proceeded in an orderly and timely manner, without any confrontations or emergencies, which maintained the stability of society.

In routine work, Gong Yi actively participates in the activities of the “Volunteer Lawyer Group for Workers’ Rights Protection” organized by the Minhang District Federation of Trade Unions, and regularly provides free legal advice to employees in the district. Mr. Gong Yi also actively participates in the voluntary consultation activities of the Legal Aid Center, and took legal questions of citizens in their daily lives. Last year, a manufacturing company in the district where Lawyer Gong Yi served as legal counsel went bankrupt due to market factors. More than 300 employees went to the District Government’s Petition and Visit Office to express their demands. The District Petition and Visit Office immediately arranged for lawyers from the Legal Aid Center to apply for labor arbitration on behalf of these employees. However, at that time, no one from the company could come forward to negotiate or check the salary amount. Without asking for a penny of remuneration or even legal aid subsidies, Gong Yi organized a team of lawyers to represent the company as the defendant and actively mediate with the lawyers of the employees. In the end, nearly 300 cases were successfully resolved and good social results were achieved.

The team of lawyers organized by Lawyer Gong Yi provides long-term free legal consultations at the Minhang District “Harmonious Homeland” Legal Publicity Station established by the Law Publicity Section of the District Judicial Bureau in the Minhang District Library, which provides legal aid to the surrounding people and popularizes the law with good appraisal from the masses.

The team of lawyers led by Gong Yi had been awarded the titles of “Excellent unit for Standardized Construction of Law Firms in Minhang District”, “Role Model in Ethical and Cultural Progress in Minhang District”, and “Advanced Law Firm for Serving the World Expo in Shanghai”.
